Abstract: Mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a collection of mobile terminals which can broadcast or obtain data/packets without any fixed networking infrastructure. Since the nodes are mobile and there is no underlying network architecture, Power consumption and Reliability are key issues in MANET. Mobile nodes are operated by limited battery power and finding the destination node is critical issue when transmitting data. Battery power is the foremost power supply to the nodes and when the nodes are deployed in the network it is hard to regenerate or restore battery of those nodes. These factors, power used by the mobile nodes and the dependability of the data being sent to the intended destination, generally depend on the routing protocols in these networks. These routing protocols determine packets forwarding and the amount of routing overhead of each node. This research paper mainly focuses to implement a reliable and power saving protocol which will address the foresaid issues, using ns2 as the network simulator and Tool Command Language
