Abstract: The main objective of this qualitative exploratory research is to explore the extent of managers’ concerns and their perspectives on stakeholder impact for data center greening. Nine case studies from data centers located in Sri Lanka were devised for the empirical investigation. The research identified six managerial concern factors for green acquisition, use and disposal, as well as four factors to represent stakeholder impact. In depth semi structured expert interviews were carried out to gather data and cross-case synthesis is employed to analyse case studies, followed by fitting equation models. The main obstacle identified for greening in this industry is the absence of benchmarks and business need to go green.
